Like the cameras, you can get the Industrial Grade monitors, but they are also available only from us. After we receive them from the manufacturer, but before you get them, each unit is put through a special INDUSTRIALIZATION process that makes it highly shock & vibration resistant.
Consumer grade monitors are available at a slightly lower price, but they are designed for use in light duty applications such as convenience stores and shopping malls. We do not recommend them for the harsher environments of an industrial plant.
Our service records show there is a considerably higher failure rate with consumer grade (off-the-shelf) units. This rate is dramatically reduced by using our INDUSTRIAL models (see bottom of page).

FAQ's & Answers
Q. Do color monitors work with B/W cameras and vice versa? In this way can I gradually change my B/W system to color?
A. Yes & Yes.
Q. Will a larger monitor allow me to see more?
A. It won't let you see more of what the camera is viewing. The monitor is dependent on what the camera is seeing and that remains the same for all screen sizes. A larger monitor will give you a bigger view.

Q. What monitor size should I get?
A. That is usually determined by four considerations:
1. How far away will you have to view it?
2. How much room do you have for mounting it.?
3. Are you going to divide it into smaller segments with a screen splitter?
4. Budget limitations. Larger monitors generally cost a little more.
Items 2, 3, & 4 are things to consider for your specific applications. For item 1, however, there is a rule of thumb for the best viewing distance. All modern monitors look good up close, but you should not be more than 9" distance for each 1" of diagonal screen size. For example, the popular 14" monitor should not be viewed more than 10.5' away ( 14" x 9"= 126" ÷ 12" = 10.5').
